About Me
My family has been in this area for over 260 years when it was Hunterdon. Andrew Butterfoss was in the Amwell Militia. He later joined the Continentals. It was the Amwell Militia the met the British 16th (Queens) Light Dragoons stationed south of Pennington and killed Cornet Francis Geary December 13, 1776 after their raid on Flemington. This already Nationally Registered historic district is in danger of severe consequences should the County plan to replace the Jacobs Creek Bridge with a massive new roadway allowing tracter trailer trucks. Harbourton is approximately 1.5 miles down Bear Tavern Road from the bridge site. Thank you!
